The elegant form of Paul Chen's Wakizashi Golden Oriole has long enjoyed great popularity among Japanese sword enthusiasts.
The story told by the tsuba (guard) is that of a mantis who furtively stalks a cricket, without knowing that she herself is being stalked by an oriole.
The deep blue of the lacquered saya (sheath) is repeated on the Japanese cotton tsuka-ito, and a praying mantis adorns the kashira (end of the handle).
The hand-forged carbon steel blade has been differentially hardened and therefore has a pronounced hardness curve.
Of incomparable Hanwei quality, the approximately 36 cm long handle ensures excellent balance, which gives the sword agility and great maneuverability.
To protect the sword, each katana comes with a matching fabric cover and a Japanese sword maintenance set. Ideal to complete or start a collection.
