Collection: Handgun replicas - Airsoft

Airsoft handgun replica ideal as a supplementary weapon and as a learning tool for novice shooters

Airsoft guns are airsoft handguns designed to mimic real firearms as closely as possible. They are used for recreational purposes. They are often chosen by beginners, as this family of BB guns also includes some of the cheapest airsoft gun models. The choice is quite large, even when it comes to airsoft versions of iconic guns.

Types of airsoft guns

When it comes to airsoft guns, you have the choice between two main categories: the ball gun (handguns) and the airsoft submachine gun, which is classified among the long replicas. These are two completely different constructions with different possibilities and applications.

Airsoft submachine guns are larger and more universal on the battlefield. Their magazines can hold more pellets, and due to the construction of this type of airsoft gun, they generally have a greater range.

BB guns, on the other hand, can be easily attached to your belt, which is also useful during fights. They are light and easy to handle, making them ideal for certain types of airsoft games.

Engine types

Like other types of airsoft weapons, airsoft guns can also be divided into spring, electric and gas models. The difference here is that, in this category, gas airsoft guns are the most common. The electric airsoft gun is not yet very popular, although this has recently started to change and manufacturers have increased their offerings of airsoft guns. Of course, we are talking about handguns here, because in the case of airsoft submachine guns, electric models are available just like gas models.

We must also mention here the airsoft guns which are the simplest in design. The spring gun has a very simple structure, devoid of any advanced functions which generally makes it the most affordable. However, it must be recharged before each shot, which reduces comfort and fluidity of use.

Airsoft gun - features and functions

The type of motor used in a given airsoft gun affects how it works, as well as whether certain functions can be used. The gas airsoft gun can be powered by green gas or carbon dioxide. Airsoft guns powered by green gas and CO2 are often equipped with the Blow-Back system, which imitates the recoil of the slide, like in a real firearm. Green gas, however, is more stable at low temperatures, unlike CO2, which loses its properties in colder climates and often makes shooting impossible. CO2 airsoft guns are characterized by a higher muzzle velocity, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.

Regardless of the type of power supply you choose, it is important to ensure that the model you have chosen is equipped with the Hop-Up system, which allows you to increase not only the speed of the balls, but also the parameters general of your airsoft gun.

The ball gun and its applications in airsoft

BB guns have several potential applications in airsoft, depending on their settings, construction and capabilities. The cheapest and simplest spring-loaded airsoft guns are often used as part of the airsoft image - they look great in a holster, but are not necessarily useful during combat mainly because they need to be rearmed after each shot, making it impossible to launch a successful attack against the opponent. The perfectly reproduced spring airsoft guns can be added to your weapon collection, and you can also use them for recreational purposes, such as outdoor shooting.

Electric and gas airsoft guns are often used as a backup weapon, i.e. an additional BB gun, in case your main airsoft gun fails. BB guns can also be used as primary weapons, in CQB or speedsoft scenarios. These are skirmishes where compact equipment counts, so you can move efficiently and quickly - and pistols are perfect for this purpose. However, remember that CQB games impose limits on muzzle velocity, which rules out CO2-powered airsoft guns. Their initial speed is generally much higher than the permitted limit.

When is it worth choosing an airsoft gun?

If you are interested in recreational shooting, in your garden or at the shooting range, the airsoft gun will be an excellent choice. Fans of games taking place in closed spaces generally choose airsoft submachine guns, because they are shorter than rifles, while allowing burst or continuous fire, while being easier to handle in confined spaces. You can also use this type of weapon at medium range; BB guns will work well in the open as a sidearm, but not so much as a primary airsoft gun. An airsoft gun can therefore be a valuable acquisition, but only if you have a clear idea of how to use it.
