The Lion Dog Wakizashi has an O-Kissaki blade made from high alloy HWS-1S steel which combines exceptional performance with an excellent hardness line, unique to Hanwei.
This steel is manufactured in the new high-tech forge in Hanwei. The result is a state-of-the-art blade that, in terms of edge retention and strength, is one of the best Hanwei has ever produced.
Blades made from HWS-1S steel owe their excellent performance properties to a combination of carefully selected alloy materials and a combination of carefully selected alloy materials and complex processing in which the content carbon steel is manipulated along the entire length of the blade. This results in a very robust and durable blade, with a hard, wear-resistant edge.
Detailed and ornate accessories include a blackened iron tsuba with a guardian lion motif, matching fuchi and kashira, and a golden peony as a menuki.
The high quality Sageo is hand woven in pure silk which gives it a very attractive appearance
