I may have a purist side, but I love this classic survival blade - the Latin machete. This product has been around since machetes existed; they have stood the test of time, in Cuba, accompanied independence, in South America, led Bolivarian revolutions.

And in our countries, they still sell just as much! So I figured there must be a reason. Let’s dig deeper in this review of the Condor El Salvador Machete. What makes this blade so special?

The "El Salvador" machete is a durable and strong blade that quickly becomes your best friend in all difficult jobs. Even if one day its edge dulls, it will compensate with its strength and balance. It is very durable for such a thin machete.

The machete is solid, not too heavy. It has a full tang blade that runs through the entire handle.

The plastic handle completely covers the tang of the blade, allowing it to absorb shock. So when you cut, you feel less tension in your wrist. I've had machetes with cheap plastic handles and every hit on the log sent a jolt through my arm.

The handle of this machete is thick and strong. You can tell after a while, and even feel the weight in your hand. It is well built. The blade is attached to the handle with rivets after prolonged use, the rivets would fail before the handle.

Long machetes are my favorite and this one is a classic. Long, thin, reasonable weight - it is perfect for clearing brush, cutting grass, cutting branches. You can even cut thin logs to make kindling for the campfire.
