The Steel Tiger® is a completely modern tactical interpretation of the Indonesian karambit knife. This knife is the result of the collaboration between Lynn C. Thompson and the late knife maker Steven Likarisch. Their goal was to harmoniously combine all the best features of this hook-shaped classic with modern materials and design elements.
Its strongly curved and extremely sharp AUS 8A stainless steel blade with a stonewash finish has been vacuum quenched and low temperature treated, Scandinavian cut and therefore features maximum strength, cutting force, sharpness retention and performance.
The tang is fully encased in a durable Griv-Ex™ core, which is visible on the bolster, thumb rest and imposing pommel ring. This Griv-Ex™ core was then coated with premium Kray-Ex™ using an injection molding process. This layer of Kray-Ex™ provides excellent slip resistance, even in cold or wet conditions.
The Steel Tiger® comes with a military-style Secure-Ex® scabbard that ensures safety and comfort. You can attach the knife to your gear or use the removable clip to wear it on your boot or belt.
AUS 8A stainless steel:
Cold Steel® has used expertly hardened Japanese AUS 8A steel for nearly three decades. This steel has been exceptionally tested and proven and has proven over the years that it is perfectly suited to the manufacture of work knife blades: it is robust and corrosion resistant, with good edge retention and also easy to sharpen.
