The Cold Steel ax is remarkably long and its thin blade is hand sharpened to obtain an unparalleled edge . It is equipped with a solid 25 cm cutting surface which ends with two sharp points.
Tradition dictates that the upper point is the longest, and that it is used for piercing , catching with the point or parrying . While the lower point, it had to be slightly shorter, in order to be used to hook an enemy's shield or to grip and immobilize their arms, legs or neck .
To maximize leverage, power and dexterity of movement, the Cold Steel Viking ax is equipped with a very sturdy handle. Made from the finest American hickory in existence, it amplifies and enhances the potential of this incredible ax as a cutting and chopping tool.
