This mythical and traditional weapon with 4 sharp sides is of Japanese origin, it is constantly used for the martial art: Shurikenjutsu, and is an emblematic weapon of ninjas. If this weapon has this shape, it is for the good reason that it will stick into the target no matter which side you throw it from, if you have ever thrown knives you know how much practice it takes.
Although this weapon is sharp and can pierce your target, it was also used to distract the enemy, in order to create a surprise effect and obtain significant attack speed. For the record, it also happened that these shurikens were dipped in poison beforehand, in order to infect the enemy (do not reproduce this at home of course!).
There are different types of Shuriken, here it is a Juji Ken.
If you throw it perfectly, it will follow a linear trajectory and obtain a significant speed when thrown, in flight it is almost imperceptible but it will cause a loud noise when it falls.
