The medieval man-at-arms was a courageous and loyal fighter, full of warlike heroism, who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. A veteran of countless battles, often the first on the battlefield, he was not a knight, but fought and trained alongside them as a brother in arms. In honor of these tough, dedicated, traveling soldiers, Cold Steel® created the Man at Arms Weapons Collection.
Compared to premium versions of Cold Steel®, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual shiny blades and silver steel elements, but in terms of quality and performance. The blued, fully sharpened blades are characterized by their inimitable metallic appearance, which harmonizes perfectly with the black handles. And when properly oiled, they reveal their inherent, radiant beauty.
The Cold Steels® rendition of this lightning-fast combat sword has been crafted from expertly hardened carbon steel, then deep blued for a deep black finish. With its forward-curved quillons, fluted leather hilt and disc-shaped pommel for weight compensation, this knight's sword is superbly balanced and looks stunning with its blued steel fittings!
The MAA knight's sword comes with a hand-stitched black leather scabbard with a mouthguard and steel coping.
1090 carbon steel
1090 carbon steel is an excellent choice for large fixed blades. It can be easily sharpened and retains that edge, while remaining strong enough to withstand the most brutal tests. In short: a good all-round carbon steel that remains very durable even with heavy use.
