The Sword breaker of ancient China had a rectangular (sometimes hollowed out) cross-section with acute angles, which allowed it to focus a blow with maximum impact.
Such a blow could push the opponent's blade aside or so far that it was virtually impossible to recover it in time to defend oneself. At best, he could live up to his name and break, bend, or otherwise incapacitate conventional swords and many other weapons with a single blow! In both cases, one was absolutely helpless against the respectable and merciless edge of the Sword breaker.
Fortunately, few had to face this absolute powerhouse in combat, as due to its size and weight, only fighters of above average strength and agility could properly wield the icebreaker . But in the hands of a physically strong and skilled warrior, he was the scourge of the battlefield in unarmed combat.
To create the replica of this rare and unique weapon, Cold Steel® was inspired by an original model that they had the privilege of examining in China. The Cold Steel® handle , made from solid rosewood, is sturdy, features a fluted cross-section, which ensures a secure grip, and is equipped with beautiful cast nickel silver fittings. The round guard is adorned with detailed decorations and the majestic five-lobed pommel forms a perfect counterweight to the blade, making it easier to swing. The beautiful 1055 carbon steel blade features a traditional rectangular section and recessed blade surfaces.
The Sword Breaker's good looks are complemented by a rosewood scabbard matching the hilt with nickel silver trim.
The Sword Breaker is very popular with martial artists and historical re-enactors. This is both a wonderful collectible and a combat-ready instrument that is sure to be a conversation piece.
