This sword, with its elegant lines and practical design, recalls the spirit of adventure of yesteryear, whether in the Wild West or on the oceans. It is suitable for the 1830s historical re-enactor group, American Civil War and naval battle re-enactors and even modern military groups.
The 1917 Hybrid Cutlass sword has a thick sheet metal guard. It has been provided with numerous holes to save weight, has curved edges, and is therefore much more resistant and protects the hand without being bulky. Comes with a leather case with brass and copper fittings.
1055 carbon steel
The carbon content and relatively low proportions of other substances in this steel make it a very stable material and free from the brittleness inherent in most high carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that are meant to have high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes and swords.
