MK2.1 is the new classy and elegant Italian version of the classic K-bar, the tribute to a veteran, the restyling of one of the most widespread war daggers during the Second World War: the Mark 2.
Extrema Ratio embarked on this ambitious project with the objective of maintaining the particular characteristics of the original and only making functional modifications aimed at increasing performance.
Cobalt stainless steel for the blade, AISI 303 and AISI 304 for the other components; in the handle, nylon filled with fiberglass replaced the leather with washers.
The ergonomics of the original have been retained but all the structural parts have been oversized to make it a massive and high-performance multi-role knife.
Conceptually, the most significant modifications aim to resolve the "weak points" of the original model: the possibility of field disassembly without tools, the tip with a modified straight Bowie profile (easier to resharpen) and the grooves on the "barrel" handle, which helps to perceive the direction of the blade even in the dark and geometrically increases the grip during twisting movements (screwdriver effect).
Other minor modifications are the holes for the safety lanyard and the holes on the guard. The traditional blood groove has been replaced by the typical Extrema Ratio "side groove" for aesthetic reasons.
Equipped with a standard sheath with automatic knife engagement, flap and thigh strap for attachment to the hip.
