Built for harsh environments, the QSP Penguin is a tough, easy-to-carry pocket knife. Built on proven liner lock construction, the Penguin combines a sturdy D2 Sheepsfoot blade with flat scales and a secure, neutral handle design for versatility and ease of carry. This version features a satin two-tone D2 steel blade and an olive green Micarta handle.
Blade : Made from D2 tool steel, the Sheepfoot blade moves smoothly on the sturdy copper washer pivot with two push buttons allowing ambidextrous one-handed use of the blade. The high blade sharpness and relatively fine structure provide excellent slicing performance with solid durability and a fine tip for drilling and detail work. A two-tone satin finish and chamfered edges on the back give the blade a sleek look, while studs on the back provide additional traction and security.
Handle: Skeletonized steel liners support sturdy Micarta handle scales for optimal durability. Chamfered edges provide a comfortable in-hand feel with subtle protection for safety. The neutral handle design is comfortable in multiple grips for versatility, while a pin lock provides ease of use and secure locking for safe use.
Transported using a reversible stainless steel clip.
D2 Tool Steel : Used as a cutting steel since World War II, D2 offers a good combination of hardness and wear resistance with moderate toughness and stain resistance. The high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) gives D2 better corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels.
