Built for harsh environments, the QSP Penguin is a tough, easy-to-carry pocket knife. Built on proven liner lock construction, the Penguin combines a sturdy D2 Sheepsfoot blade with flat scales and a secure, neutral handle for versatility and ease of carrying. This version features a stone-washed black D2 steel blade, matching black coating and hardware, and translucent "Jade" green G10 handle scales.
Blade: Made from D2 tool steel, the Sheepfoot blade moves smoothly on the sturdy copper washer pivot with two thumb studs allowing ambidextrous operation. The blade sharpness and relatively thin shank provide excellent slicing performance, solid durability and a fine point for drilling and detail work. A stonewashed black finish hides wear while providing discreet use. Chamfered edges on the back of the blade give it a sleek look, while studs on the back provide added traction and security.
Handle: Skeletonized black steel liners support durable G10 scales for durability and modern style. Chamfered edges provide a comfortable in-hand feel with subtle protection for safety. The neutral handle design is comfortable in multiple grips for added versatility, while a pin lock provides ease of use and secure locking for safe use.
Transported using a reversible stainless steel clip.
D2 Tool Steel: Used as a cutting steel since World War II, D2 offers a good combination of hardness and wear resistance with moderate toughness and stain resistance. The high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) gives D2 better corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels.
