The Firebird FH51 is a versatile folding knife that is equally suitable for hiking, picnicking and fishing, as well as everyday use and an EDC tool.
Its blade is made of D2 steel which, due to its composition, is considered semi-stainless steel because it contains only 12% chromium. But mixtures of molybdenum and vanadium make the metal more resistant to the aggressive environment, increase its durability and prevent breakage. Of all the alloys in its category, D2 is the most stainless steel.
The length of the knife blade is 81 mm. The manufacturers configured it as Clip-point . It has a lowered stock with a scythe, a marked edge and a fairly long cutting edge. The sharpening of this model is smooth along the entire length. There is a notch closer to the handle on the lower part of the blade, and on the upper part there is a notched area , which protects against slipping of the fingers while working with the knife. The color of the blade of this model is maintained in natural gray. The metal is sharpened with a popular satin finish.
The handle of the Firebird FH51 is made of two G10 fittings which are intertwined by several bolts. They have a smooth rounded shape which is most convenient for keeping a knife in the palm of the hand and its prolonged use. The surface of the liner is specially roughened, so that the grip of the knife is stronger, and it does not slip in wet palms or gloves. A through hole is provided at the end of the handle to thread a strap . A clip is also screwed onto one side of the handle.
The Firebird FH51 model is equipped with a Flipper closure that allows you to easily and quickly put it in a ready-to-use state and not worry about it possibly closing during use.
