Basic 511 Maroon fixed blade knife - Morakniv

The Basic 511 is the most used of our classic knives. This knife has been appreciated and loved by professionals and amateur craftsmen for generations. In other words, it's a real Morakniv.

However, keep in mind that carbon steel can be affected by humidity and corrosive environments, so make it a habit to wipe your knife and oil the blade after using it.

Nico's opinion

This knife is an entry-level budget knife, and the price is really low compared to the value you get from this knife

Now my first impression on the blade, it is well made and has a good balance between the blade and the handle, it is made of carbon steel, which means the blade is very hard, but like all carbon steels ( i.e. non-stainless steel) it has low corrosion resistance, it is therefore necessary to oil it and clean it well.

In other words, I wouldn't recommend this knife for wet environments like the sea, food preparation, fishing, cooking, or skinning while hunting, but if you're looking for a blade hard to chop, hit or stick, the Mora 511 will do the job perfectly.

And dressed in burgundy red like that, you won't risk losing it.
