Historical context
A particular situation created in the early years of the First World War placed soldiers in increasingly complex confined situations. These situations required the training of units that, over time, would excel in hand-to-hand combat. Our assault units, the Arditi, had their own knife. They made these knives by cutting off the tips of their 1870 long-bladed Vetterli bayonets, which in the past had been problematic due to their length and lack of maneuverability.
Today, on the occasion of its centenary, we remember this important piece of Italian military history with a commemorative version of only 1,918 pieces. This version comes with a black blade and a black cordura sheath.
