Taïga knives are distinctive hunting knives and multi-purpose knives for demanding users. A solid blade made of laminated cobalt steel not only guarantees stable function, you will notice quite quickly that the edge holds very well without being fragile. The reason for this is the fine, well heat-treated and hardened steel, but also the convex-shaped cutting edge.
The ergonomic shape of the handle ensures a secure grip.
As the design shows, this handmade knife with a very exclusive desert ironwood handle (lat. Olneya tesota). This species is not included in the CITES appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and its use is therefore legal. Like all natural materials, it varies in texture and color, making each knife an individual creation.
If you want to maintain or even increase the luster of the wood, treat it with log oil, furniture oil, bench oil, or any other type of wood oil that contains linseed oil. The fact that the blade passes through the handle over its entire width (so-called full tang blade) gives a very solid and reliable construction and gives the knife a comfortable weight.
What's a bit special about these knives is the very secure plastic sheath where a specially designed locking system ensures that the knife is properly locked when placed in the sheath. It works whatever the weather and wind, sand or snow.
