Cold Steel® Monolithic fixed blades are cold forged (not cheaply cast!) from high carbon 52100 steel. Their solid steel bodies are expertly heat treated, from the tip to their blades sharp to the end of their sturdy handles . Additionally, each features an ergonomic contour and deep depression in the handle for a comfortable and secure grip.
The Cold Steel® Drop Forged Hunter is a fearless hunting and outdoor knife and tool. It features a super wide, continuously curvature blade that is both sharp and durable, designed to do a great job even in the most demanding conditions. With its beautiful weather-resistant dark gray finish and modern Secure-Ex® sheath, the Drop Forged Hunter offers all the best features of a traditional hunting knife, but in a completely modern package!
52100 high carbon steel
52100 High Carbon Steel is a tough steel that is an excellent choice for custom hunting and outdoor fixed knives. It is often used by custom knife makers for forged blades that need to be sturdy and resistant to wear in harsh conditions.
