The Benchmade 940 Osborne is another knife designed by Warren Osborne (hence the name) and it is as close to perfect as a knife can be in this range, it is for knife enthusiasts and fans, this knife a great investment.

The 940's blade is made from S30V grade stainless steel, one of the finest steels available. It has a sheepfoot shape and sharpens relatively well. After several weeks of intensive use, my Benchmade 940 is still sharp enough to shave. The handle is anodized 6061-T6 aluminum with stainless steel trim and a purple anodized titanium bracket. Almost everything about this knife expresses beauty and performance.

What is the CPM-S30V?

It is a stainless steel, it is also a martensitic steel (phase in which it transforms into chromium with the addition of vanadium. Thanks to its high volume of vanadium, its resistance to abrasion (wear) increases considerably. Furthermore, its manufacturing method which is “powder metallurgy” offers it better homogeneity and isotropy.

What is MOLLE?

One of the hallmarks of the Benchmade Osborne 940 is its perfectly balanced design. The length, width and weight are perfect in every way for everyday use, and I mean everyday.

I've used this knife to cut everything from hemp rope and nylon to aluminum, and the knife has never failed me. I've featured it for slicing through thick plastic, for drilling through the hood of a car (on a bet), and for opening packages in the office.

The 940 has accompanied me on many camping and hunting trips, and has been used for chopping kindling, for chef tasks (this thing cuts onions almost like paper), for slicing steak too although a chef's knife.
