Spartan, folding knife with AUS 10A stainless steel blade - 2019 model.
Designed by renowned custom knife maker Andrew Demko, the Spartan is one of Cold Steel®'s most popular folding knives.
Its super sharp Stonewash finish blade is made from AUS 10A steel and has been designed to echo the aesthetic and cutting performance of the world famous Kukri. Its distinctive Kopis-inspired handle is precision injection molded from Griv-Ex™ with heat-treated steel liners, and this, plus Cold Steel®'s famous Tri-Ad® lock, makes for an incredibly safe knife and secure.
The Spartan also features the patented Demko thumb plate, which can be used to open the knife conventionally one-handed or be hooked to the edge of a pocket during the draw stroke and opened with lightning speed!
AUS 10A stainless steel
AUS 10A steel is as strong and durable as AUS 8A steel, but has the extraordinary benefit of 20% more edge retention capacity. This ability to maintain a sharp edge for a longer period of time gives it greater performance advantages than other, more common stainless steels.
