ERMES is the commemorative knife developed in cooperation with the Reggimento Elicotteri per Operazioni Speciali (REOS), part of the Italian Army Aviation Command.
The REOS is the special forces helicopter support operational unit, made up of personnel specially trained and equipped to support military activities in any operational context.
The stylized knife guards represent the wings of the department's coat of arms.
The steel used is the reliable Bölher N690Co heat treated to 58 HRC. Glass fiber reinforced polyamide polymer (FRN) was chosen for the handle. The hybrid Kydex and fabric sheath is equipped with a belt or harness attachment with MOLLE interface system.
