The Contact fixed blade knife has a blade with a spear point profile, a rounded flat edge and a diamond geometry.
It has a lower guard branch to protect the hand from accidental cuts, an upper jumper to improve grip, a concave edge along the entire length of the blade and a generous blade thickness (6.30mm). All these features make the Contact model a high quality and versatile knife.
The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC with a Stone Washed finish.
The handle is also made of forged rubber but is no longer mounted by means of the side screws but by means of a stainless steel tang in the shape of a truncated cone which screws into the bottom and fits into a special seat, making the knife solid and well balanced.
The scabbard is minimalist, stripped of much of its fabric and adopting a second level retention system that is reversible for ambidextrous knife carrying. The main shell is injection molded from shock-resistant nylon.
The blade is guided in the sheath thanks to a conical shape which lends itself well to rapid insertion and extraction of the knife. To remove the blade, simply squeeze the trigger and the safety catch disengages to hold the blade securely in the sheath.
In the horizontal slots of the hard shell there is a system that cushions the blade to avoid shaking noises when stored inside. The rear portion of the nylon sheath has been designed to interface with the MOLLE system The textile portion is kept to a minimum and features a two-button safety lace with a belt loop and a thigh strap with rubber reinforcement to prevent the rotation.
Extrema Ratio's objective for this new line is to minimize the thickness and bulk of the knife, without compromising on structural strength and safety accessories.
