The Contact knife from Extrema Ratio: A tactical - military type knife but also extremely versatile for everyday use.
It has a blade with a lance-shaped profile, flat sharpening and diamond-shaped geometry.
It has a lower guard branch to protect the hand from accidental cuts.
The upper toothed side improves grip when placing your chip.
Its blade has a 'full concave' or groove over its entire length with a comfortable thickness of 6.30mm.
All these details make the Contact the older brother of the now famous Requiem , revisited in its proportions and in certain technical characteristics: the first in a new line of multi-use knives.
The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical burnishing coating for the Black version.
The handle is made of forprene. It is no longer assembled by the side screws but thanks to the frustoconical stainless steel rod which is screwed to the bottom and will be inserted into a special seat, which makes it solid. This way the knife is well balanced.
The sheath is minimalist; most of the fabric has been cut away; it has a 2nd level retention system, reminiscent of the style of the model from which it was inspired.
MOLLE compatible
The main shell is injection molded from shock-resistant nylon. The secondary retention system is reversible for ambidextrous users. The blade is guided in the sheath thanks to its conical shape which lends itself well to rapid insertion and extraction of the blade. To extract the blade, pressing on the trigger will be sufficient, thus releasing the safety that holds it firmly in the sheath. In the horizontal slots of the sheath is added a system which fixes the blade to avoid shaking noises when it is stored inside. The back of the nylon sheath is MOLLE compatible.
The textile part is reduced to a minimum and has the classic two-button safety strap with a belt loop and a thigh band with rubber reinforcement for anti-rotation. Extrema Ratio targets this new line by minimizing the thickness and size of the knife, but without saving on structural strength and safety accessories.
