A good bipod is an essential part of dynamic long-range precision shooting and is the best way to get more accurate shots on target, short of using a full shooting bench.
A bad bipod is more of a hindrance than a help and will only frustrate you by bouncing around and losing adjustment.
This is where Harris Engineering comes in to show the world what a good bipod is.
In Harris naming conventions, the "M" part means that the adjustable feet are notched at regular intervals to facilitate precise adjustment. The "S" part means the bipod pivots back and forth for windage adjustments, or simply to engage targets in an arc in front of the shooter without needing to move the bipod legs.
It is made mainly of aluminum alloy with steel fixings on all wearing parts and mating surfaces, making it very light but also very durable.
It features an anodized coating that will withstand light abuse and should remain relatively scratch-free; it fades rather than flaking, which is what you expect from a good anodized coating.
