The late Bob Koga remains an icon in the world of self-defense and law enforcement. An Air Force veteran and Los Angeles Police officer, he received extensive training in martial arts (judo, wrestling, jiu jitsu, jo do and aikido) and became a staunch advocate of the merits of the stick straight compared to the PR24 pole or the side handle pole.
The Cold Steel Koga SD series batons are made from an extremely durable polymer. Law enforcement professionals often face a dilemma when considering whether to use punches or batons.
Fist blows may be too weak, or worse, result in a broken hand, while baton blows may be too forceful and result in serious injury.
There is, however, a solution, the Koga SD , which bridges the gap by focusing and amplifying the effect of punches while minimizing the risk of permanent injury.
