1. The beginnings of Wildsteer

Created by Edouard de BUYER, the reputation of this young company has been made in France, Europe and the United States, thanks to the innovation and exceptional qualities of its first knife, the "Wildsteer".

Originally designed for archers , the "Wildsteer" offers characteristics such that it is also intended for all nature and outdoor enthusiasts and forest survival enthusiasts. Extracting arrows, pinching, incising wood, pruning, allowing assemblies to be made, deburring... are the main functions of this one-piece forged straight knife.

Once the knife was made, a patent on the arrow extraction and a model on the leather handle so representative of the Wildsteer were filed and the WILDSTEER adventure began on December 24, 2004.

2. A unique patent: The arrow extractor

Designed by an archer practicing wild shooting for more than 25 years, the WILDSTEER knife is the result of several years of tests and observations which led to the creation of this exceptionally complete knife, offering you a perfect balance between robustness (required for extraction), maneuverability and high cutting quality. All this allows the knife to be used during the day's hunting or in nature and by a woman just as much as by a man.

This combination offers several functions:

  • Clamp function:

Housings provided in the knife guard and in the extractor allow, thanks to the articulation, to grip and firmly hold the tubes without damaging them. You will therefore easily unscrew the arrow tube stuck in the shaft, allowing access to the thread of the tip.

  • Extractor function:

By screwing the extractor onto the thread of the point, and articulating it on the knife, you will be able to extract your arrowhead by exerting leverage with the blade of the knife.
In the case of difficult extractions, the "Tanto" tip of the WILDSTEER knife will allow you to precisely incise the wood by hitting the pommel with your hand, thus allowing the tip to be pre-released.

  • Broadhead sharpening:

The extractor will also serve as a blade holder to precisely sharpen your broadheads.

  • Deburring of barrels:

The notches located on the top of the WILDSTEER knife will allow you to deburr the cut tubes (stretching or recovery) before installing the insert.

3. The project with Remis Camus, extreme adventurer

Remi Camus is a true adventurer with an impressive track record

  • In 2011, running across Australia
  • In 2013, swimming down the Mekong River
  • In 2017, winner of the show Wild, race of survival on M6
  • In 2018, Swimming Tour of the Coast

Wildsteer and Rémi met during the Survivalism fair in March 2018 in Paris. Rémi then presented his unique project, the Swimming Tour of the Coast, with the aim of raising awareness of the need to preserve water through a sporting, human and authentic feat. This challenge immediately appealed to Wildsteer.

Expert and winner of the show Wild, the Survival Race broadcast on M6, Rémi has already used Wildsteer knives during this adventure, so it is quite natural that he turns to them to ask for a knife with specific characteristics for his next adventure.

The knife must be compact and light, it must be very resistant to corrosion, easy to handle and ergonomic while being very robust, with a firelighting area and a paracord handle.

Wildsteer therefore did everything possible to create the knife that met Rémi's expectations and this is how the Wild Adventurer was born:

4. Their commitments to professionals

Direct heir of 1st battalion of marine commando rifles which was formed during the Second World War in Great Britain, it bears the name of Lieutenant Augustin Hubert, killed in combat on June 6, 1944 in Ouistreham. The Hubert commando is based in St Mandrier. It specializes in land, airborne, underwater and maritime special actions. .

It is therefore with great pride that we offer you the prestigious Kraken knife , a knife designed and produced by Wildsteer in partnership with the Commando Hubert in 2017 and which has since equipped the marine commandos.

A part of the sales is donated to the association “Primus Inter Mares” to support the members of the commando in their actions, the war wounded and their families.

The 1erRPIMa, unit of the French Special Forces, whose origins take root during the 2nd world war, has become, over the years, the ultimate tool of the “special war against terrorism”.

Audacity, discretion, mastery of fire, extraordinary physical and mental capacities, characterize these soldiers of the nation who expose themselves in extremely explosive and complex battlefields.

Wildsteer has chosen, for several years, to directly support the “La Chimère” association with this mission of supporting soldiers and affected families.

As part of this project, the 1st RPIMa gave its agreement to Wildsteer, so that the tactical and combat dagger SAS - Wildsteer and the motto "Qui Dare Gagne" attached to it could be proposed.

  • Support for professionals

Wildsteer is committed to supporting active French soldiers, law enforcement personnel (police officers, gendarmes, customs officers) and firefighters.

Wildsteer knives are very versatile and robust, all models can be used for hunting, survival and all outdoor pruning purposes.

If you are a fan, user and/or collector of high quality knives, you will love Wildsteer!
