The Story of Toor Knives: Fusion of Heritage and Adventure

The Toor Brothers, Connor and Cameron , natives of the San Diego suburbs, grew up in the warm atmosphere of baseball and Sunday night barbecues.... These twins are blessed with a boundless imagination and inexhaustible creativity .

Since their adolescence, their creative spirit has pushed them to experiment with their father's tools and the endless resources of the forest across the street from their home. Their first creations were homemade slingshots, bows and arrows, and wooden spears made from tree branches. As they learned the mechanics behind basic tools, they decided they were best suited for jobs involving manual labor.

Like many Americans, they took their first jobs while in college, working as laborers at a local skateboard manufacturing company. They gradually honed their basic crafting skills while also becoming familiar with the business side. Using tools such as CNC milling machines to cut pre-press skateboards, belt sanders to smooth out square edges on the freshly cut board, and strong epoxy adhesives to bond the multiple layers of plywood in skateboarding was their first introduction to carpentry with epoxy, now the primary adhesive used to attach handles to blades.

After graduating from college, Connor enlisted in the Marines and Cameron enlisted in the Army. For the first time in their lives, they took different paths. Connor became a Rifleman Scout and Cameron an Army Ranger. Their separation was difficult, but it also brought them varied experiences and knowledge. Exposed to different weapon systems, tools, equipment and knives, they noticed a clear gap in the development of effective tactical blades.

So, with the knowledge and skills gained from both the military field and the skateboard manufacturing industry, they decided to design their first two blades for practical use. These two blades were the first carried on their military equipment. Although they weren't the most aesthetically pleasing knives, they had designed and built a tool that they were proud of and could test with their teammates. Soon, two knives became four, then eight, and their product quickly gained popularity within their respective units. Thus Toor Knives was born as a knife manufacturing company.

A company truly built on the “veteran-led” principle. Their blades were in the hands of men in the field before they were available for purchase by the public. Something that Toor Knives will always continue to take as pride. Their priority is, and always will be, the man on the ground.
